2023 Geothermal Installation Basics training/testing

GAOI will hold its popular Geothermal Installation Basics training/testing on Wednesday, October 18th in Oak Brook.
Registration begins at 8:30 am and the class begins at 9:00 am. Coffee and donuts will be available. Dave Buss will be the instructor. The course provides a solid overview of all phases of geothermal installation, as well as general refrigeration principles and troubleshooting. It is designed as an overview course and is perfect for a relatively new technician. Participants are eligible to take the installation and service exams following the training.
The cost of the course includes all materials, testing, coffee/pastries and lunch. As in the spring training, held in conjunction with the conference in East Peoria, ComEd will reimburse any contractors for the registration of their technicians who participate in the training. This reimbursement will be made after a project has been completed and the ComEd geothermal incentive has been provided to a ComEd customer for a geothermal installation.
This is the last GAOI training of its kind for 2023. Holding the GAOI credential for installation/service is a requirement for contractors to be part of the ComEd program … making their customers who install residential geothermal systems eligible for the ComEd rebate, currently at $1,500/ton for residential installations, to a maximum rebate of $9,000.
Cost of the class is $400 for a member and any additional people from the same company will only pay $300. The cost for a non-member is $500. If you need additional information about the training, contact John Freitag at jfreitag@gaoi.org.
